Evaluation of international wines, ciders, and spirits with emphasis on Norwegian producers
After earning my certification from the Madrid School of Hospitality and becoming a certified Spanish wine judge, I was honoured to be invited to serve as a judge for CINVE, the International Wine and Spirits Competition, held in Extremadura and Madrid.
Among more than 1,500 wines, ciders, and spirits from around the world, I was especially proud to see Norwegian cider and spirit producers represented in the competition, a sign of how far our national craft has come.
Over 45 Norwegian entries took part, and the response from the judges and public alike was extraordinary. The appreciation for the quality and innovation of Norwegian beverages was overwhelming, with more than 20 gold medals, as well as several silver and bronze, awarded to producers from across the country.
This milestone was the result of a joint effort between Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Seafood Council, the Norwegian Embassy in Spain, and the Spain–Norway Chamber of Commerce, an inspiring collaboration that helped bring Norwegian products one step closer to international recognition and export success.
